Things have been crazy in my neiborhood.  Thanks to an attorney though things have settled down.  My landlord turned into a Grinch and decided he wanted my family out of our apartment by the end of the month.  We were in an uproar of course but found out that what he was trying to do he couldn’t do legally.  So we were trying to enjoy our christmas all together and he showed up at the door.  Now why would the landlord show up at the door on Christmas??  He wanted us to sign a paper stating that we were going to have to move out by the 31st of Jan.  We refused though because we hadn’t gotten legal advise yet and there was no way to do so with everything being closed.   I was angry however and really baffled that our landlord would come on Christmas and not only bother my family plus in addition to that he should have been with his family.  Well anyway, I got to talk to an attourney today and as of right now he doesn’t have a case so I can pretty much rest easy.  Her advise however was for us to go ahead and find a new place since he wants us out anyway.

Parents for all time have been feeding their children.  Since the introduction of commercial food  many parents (like with formula) have given their babies their first foods from those commercial foods.  I myself fed my first child baby food without a thought except avoiding allergies with each new food.  However with my second child I had already thought of making it myself because I figured that it would most likely be better for him.  Turns out I was right.  Not only was it better for him but it was also much much cheaper.  I was able to make 10 servings ( one serving was approximately equal to one jar of first foods) for less than $1.  He moved on to thicker textures and then on to solid foods very easily and not only is the leaner of my two children but also eats more than my elder, three year old does.  It was better for him because baby foods have unnecessary sugars in the desserts, and in the second and third foods they have starches added in that also aren’t needed.

I really enjoyed making baby food for my son and will continue to make it for however many children I have.  It tasted so much better than the commercial food and the food I made was more readily accepted than the jarred food anyway.  I personally believe that we should feed our children the same food we eat when he/she is ready for them rather than the commercial foods.  Jarred food is great for on the go and emergencies but I don’t believe that it should be fed to babies all the time.
